The GW Office of Compliance and Privacy maintains a list of GW policies, created to ensure that the university is in compliance with all local, state and federal laws that govern our activities as individuals and as representatives of the university. There are three policies that are specifically related to Treasury Management at GW.
- The Payment Card Security Policy (PDF) requires units with a business need to accept payment via payment card to contact the Treasury Management office in advance, in order to establish a secure payment processing method. The purpose of this policy is to promote protection of customer account data in accordance with the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standard.
- The Deposit of Checks, Cash and Credit Card Receipts Policy (PDF) requires all cash, checks and credit card receipts to be deposited on the same day they are received, in order to maintain good financial management and internal control.
- The Disbursement of Foreign Currency Policy (PDF) notes that it is the general policy of the university to make all payments in U.S. Currency. In an exceptional case, Accounts Payable must be contacted, Treasury Management must review, and Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) or bank draft utilized.
